The role of geographical thought in normalization of Mathematical Sciences
In the current context of education has an important place to get attention for spatial thinking in view of the educational standards for the various disciplines. These standards-based discipline. developed in the mid-1990s. provide statements of the K-12 students should know, understand and be able to do: they should provide a basis for program development. Assessment methods, teacher training and additional material of instruction. 1: The Committee focused on two sets of standards. Principles and Standards for School Mathematics, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics developed in 2000. This is an update of the first set of standards. to be published in Mathematics in 1989. Second National Science Education Standards, prepared by the National Research Council in 1996. Several tested sets of standards have been, including those for geography (Geography Education Standards Project, 1994), but math and science standards provide a direct link to the spatial thinking and reasoning, and they are of fundamental importance for the process of education and the idea a technically skilled workforce.
What is the case with the highest standards of training, these two sets of standards in relation to spiritual issues with difficult levels to the standards set for the school organized along each topic. Unifying concepts and processes in science, science as inquiry, physical: for example, are built around eight academic standards, intellectual categories. al sciences, life sciences, earth and space science and technology, science in personal and social perspectives, history and nature of science. For each category there is a content standard and “as a result of the planned activities for all students at this level, the contents of the standard is to be understood, or are certain skills must be developed” (NRC, 1996, p. 6). In the case of the first category, there is no distinction by grade level, the other seven categories. Understanding is organized into three clusters Grade: K-4, 5-8. and 9-12. The eight standards are they as a whole to achieve scientific literacy used. There are two questions on the relationship between spatial thinking and sets content standards: (1) The basic principles of spatial thinking some explicit expectations set by different standards? (2) The concepts of spatial thinking implicit in the standards? To answer these questions, the Committee considers that start the two sets of standards in order. The project Jason Takes math and science outside the classroom
What It Is
The JASON Project is headquartered in Ashburn, Virginia. Its mission is to inspire students with a lifelong passion for learning science, math and technology through hands on real-world scientific discovery. It is named in the spirit of the Greek myth of Jason and the Argonauts.
For average students, Jason provide real-time, interdisciplinary science expeditions involve a unique opportunity, in real time, standards-based, multidisciplinary research directed by leading scientists.
For educators, JASON provides content and tools to effectively teach the average level of science. JASON Professional Development Program offers accredited online professional development courses in science, mathematics and reading instruction for non-fiction as well as on-site workshops and coaching to teachers are highly qualified and best use of the Jason Program in the classroom. In addition to the award-winning science programs JASON, JASON provides professional development to increase teachers with a comprehensive range of online courses and workshops on site to peruse. JASON professional development, by the National Science Teachers Association, improved teacher-salary-supported learning environments and tools for students to be effective. JASON provides professional development of applications with many class demonstrations and offer hands-on activities />
JASON Math
Some of the many expeditions through the mathematical JASON project also led the secrets of each March, from the shore into the sea, and tropical forests to the junction. Each entry, mathematical concepts and skills to integrate with scientific themes. In addition, the mathematics curriculum includes activities such as geometry and Adventures Return to Titanic, and proportional reasoning and the disappearance of wetlands. These programs can be used stand-alone projects or class to a corresponding JASON expedition to be completed. Students will be introduced to real scientists and their work and have the opportunity to have similar activities in the classroom and outside.
JASON is to give teachers exciting new ways of teaching mathematics based on required standards. As students use our hands to the scientific approach to solving real problems, the activities demanded of key math skills and concepts to learn.

The programs are rich with learning experiences on a practical approach election day, that reflects the work of real scientists are based. The flexible design allows cross-curricular integration or a single subject implementation across disciplines. Not only the JASON curriculum standards-based national model for computer science, mathematics, social studies, language arts and technology, but they are also correlated with each state standards for science. JASON has been shown that improving the average level of student learning outcomes.

Obama “Educating for innovation” underlines the need for quality science education for children
thrust together for one moment the teacher, the courage and passion are to educate in the sciences. Recently, Obama has several public-private partnerships make investments of more than 0 million would get help over 10,000 new math and science to teach and willing to discuss adding more than 100,000 existing teachers announced. The crusade of the present government is “educating for innovation” and has many paths to walk American students in science increase, technology, engineering and mathematics. Just as there is a national effort to teach professional instructors, home schooling in all areas have learned to trust in a position to hear, and make it interesting for students. What about the president stressed the need to engage girls? Here are just a sign that the factors for this problem. Only 17% of bachelor’s degrees in engineering sciences in women given
underlines all this, that our schools educate not even properly now children in science and mathematics, they need to make significant achievements in their professions to make as adults. Ranking of U.S. students, the science continues to fall relative to those of other nations to compete not bode well for our ability to innovate and in the future, as already mentioned by Gravitas Publications. There is a need for scientists to commit resources at an early age, especially for those who teach privately or at home. To ensure students and teachers are comfortable, to resources, the “how to” manuals for non-science adults who teach are to use.
A typical example is that of Gravitas Publications (http://www.gravitaspublications.com/) began in 2002 due to a home school mom – who was actually a scientist with a Ph.D. . – Could not be found age-appropriate, engaging books that made a real basis for the understanding of science
